Bounty

    Last week, standing thigh deep in lavender with vineyards to my left and wheat fields rolling over the foothills in front of me, I again felt blessed.  I have this feeling every time I see...actually see what bounty the land produces.  I love to get my hands deep into the soil, to plant tomatoes, basil, celeriac, eggplants and of course, flowers.  The feel, the smell and finally the taste are rewards at the end of every summer.  But when I see acres of food and flowers like in this photo, I am humbled by what this earth actually provides.
